Edward Grayson was the uncle of Daniel and the brother of Susan. He was an amiable man who was more conventional than his sister or nephew. Edward was close friends with Nathaniel when they were younger, and romantically interested in Nathaniel's sister, Margaret, but her feelings for him were sisterly.
Edward married Charlotte Barnsley. They had three children, and one of them was Peter Grayson, later heir to Grayson Hall, whom Daniel adored.
